A swordsman caught mid-turn, a blade held vertical, and two words of ink that decide the whole reading of the image.
Design Story
The composition is built on a single diagonal: the raised katana cuts the frame from lower left to upper right, and the eye follows it down to the gripped hilt before returning to the over-shoulder gaze. Green sits at the centre — hair, robe, the rough sumi circle behind the figure — while black brush lettering anchors the left column and the base. A small vermilion sun and a pale mountain with pagodas occupy the quieter middle ground, giving the ink room to breathe. Bamboo stalks close the right edge. The expression is serious rather than furious; the tension lives in the stillness before movement.

Fit & Wear
Scaled across the front of an oversized garment, the vertical blade follows the natural fall of the silhouette and keeps the composition tall rather than wide. The stacked lettering reads clearly at distance, while splatter and brushwork resolve up close. Streetwear layering suits it — open shirt or jacket frames the ink column without cropping the sword line.
